The Ingolstadt region is one of the top mobility addresses in Europe, with the headquarters of Audi, one of the largest Airbus D/S plants and many automotive suppliers and engineering companies. THI supports this by training qualified young academic specialists and managers. The immediate proximity to the premium providers of the mobility industry in the entire southern German region and their suppliers, the state-of-the-art test fields for autonomous driving and flying, such as the A9 digital test field, the "First Mile" (=urban test field for autonomous driving), the planned test field for 5G communication and the test field for autonomous flying in Manching, as well as forward-looking projects such as the Urban Air Mobility initiative, are what distinguish the university location.
