Hydrogen technology: the region moves forward together

District Administrator Peter von der Grün welcomed the participants and was delighted with the high-caliber line-up, which included District Administrator Alexander Anetsberger from Eichstätt, District Administrator Albert Gürtner from Pfaffenhofen, Professor Georg Rosenfeld, Head of Economic Affairs for the City of Ingolstadt, and Professor Daniel Großmann, Vice President for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at the THI. Von der Grün emphasized that the region has valuable experience with hydrogen technology: There are already several interesting projects, he said. In addition, THI's research in this field is an asset for the region.

According to Professor Großmann, the university offers cooperation and scientific support in the implementation of projects for the production and use of green hydrogen in the region. It trains specialists for work in this field and integrates practical tasks into the study program. It also networks the various players in hydrogen technology and the hydrogen economy.

At the invitation of the economic development and climate protection managers, regional players presented specific hydrogen projects in the region. The entire range of activities along the value chain became clear. For example, Michael Lederer, Mayor of Karlshuld, described the experiences of his municipality in implementing an energy concept together with Stadtwerke Ingolstadt. Dr. Markus Ostermeier from the company H2ydrogen Solutions in Schweitenkirchen explained the possibility of on-site hydrogen production using modular electrolysis kits.

These practical examples and findings served as an impetus and basis for discussion at the subsequent dialogue at the topic tables. Following the successful kick-off event, HY10 will continue to be filled with life. To this end, the project partners are organizing another networking event in September 2024.
