The event brought together leading experts such as Mrs. Elke Weihard from IFG Ingolstadt, who shed light on the fascinating world of residential clusters. This project is creating a real data-based mobility database for Ingolstadt and the region, enabling the recording of actual mobility flows. The aim is to promote the optimization of commuter mobility. Mrs. Weihard also gave an insight into the city's Urban Air Mobility Initiative, which promotes innovative solutions for mobility in urban areas.
Mr. Robert Martinez v. Bülow from the BMW Group presented pioneering approaches on how sustainability and vehicle safety can merge to make the mobility of the future safer and more environmentally friendly.

Mr. Michael Obermaier from Munich Airport International GmbH spoke about the challenges and prospects of sustainability in aviation, shedding light on current developments and taking a critical look at the industry.
The THI doctoral student Mr. Max Bauder, a colleague of the SAFIR Cluster Head Prof Hans-Georg Schweiger, spoke about pioneering developments in crash safety, main inspections and the accident analysis of the future. He presented new findings and methods from his two SAFIR projects.
Mr. Stephan Brun from AUDI AG gave an interesting presentation on "Mission Zero - from decarbonization to the circularity of production". The event not only offered fascinating insights into the future of safe and sustainable mobility, but also provided a platform for exchanging ideas and networking.
Mr. Jan Haß, also a research associate of Prof. Schweiger, completed the portfolio with his research work on wood as a material and its fire-retardant properties in batteries. Alternative sustainable materials are being sought for battery housings and the safety of these materials, which are coated with sodium silicate, is being investigated.

The event was characterized by its wide range of topics and thus stimulated a lot of exchange and discussion. The SAFIR management team is looking forward to seeing you again in 2024.
