Doctoral Centre for Engineering Sciences
The Doctoral Centre for Engineering Sciences, staffed by 25 professors with strong research skills, covers the following clusters: vehicle safety, electromobility, sustainable energy systems and new materials technology. The subject-related foundations of engineering research in the doctoral centre lie in the engineering disciplines of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, to which the respective professors are assigned according to faculty focus. The research itself takes place primarily in the research institutes of CARISSMA, IIMo and InES as well as in the Competence Centre for Materials and Surface Technology. The doctoral centre awards the academic degree of Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.).
