It was nice to have you with us, Prof. Samuel Luna de Abreu!
Prof. Abreu visited THI for a research exchange within the project “2LIFEBAT – robust solar powered storage systems with second-life batteries and their economic and ecological potential”.
The main goal of the project is the establishment of a research cooperation network between Brazilian and German universities in the area of application of second-life batteries.
Members of the cooperation network are the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) and the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) in Brazil and the University Duisburg-Essen as well as Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt in Germany.
The project is funded by the DAAD as part of the programme "German-Brazilian Research Cooperation in the Energy Sector – NoPa 2.0".
Our guest Prof. Samuel Luna de Abreu is from the IFSC (Florianópolis, Brazil). He came to THI to participate on a five days workshop within the 2LIFEBAT project and stayed after the workshop for 4 weeks until the 7th of July for research exchange at THI. Previous workshops were in Florianopolis and Manaus.
At the THI Prof. Samuel Luna de Abreu worked together with the CARISSMA Institute of Electric, Connected and Secure Mobility (C-ECOS). The main part of his activities was the implementation of experiments in the aging and swelling behavior of lithium-ion cells in the C-ECOS lab. Another part was the development of joint research activities in the area of second-life batteries between IFSC und THI. It was a successful exchange and we look forward to further cooperation. Greetings to Florianópolis!
