The lecture series begins on Tuesday, the 16th of April, with a lecture on heat pumps. Three further lectures will follow on the 23rd of April, the 14th of May, and the 11th of June. Interested members of the public are cordially invited to attend.
On the 16th of April, the topic will be "Optimizing the operation of an air source heat pump in residential buildings". Heat pumps are a decisive factor in the energy transition in the building sector. In recent years, air-source heat pumps in particular have been installed in residential buildings, accounting for over 70 percent of the total. There are many opportunities for optimization during operation, which can be exploited by taking forecasts into account. For example, financial and ecological benefits can be achieved for residents by operating the heat pump at times of high efficiency or PV supply. The speakers of the lecture are Professor Tobias Schrag and Lucas Müller from the Institute for New Energy Systems (InES).
The second presentation on the 23rd of April will look at "Heat recovery from wastewater" as a contribution to the heat transition. This is because the potential for heat recovery through heating and/or cooling with wastewater or river water is enormous. The integration of future-proof technologies to utilize the potential of wastewater in urban areas, at sewage treatment plants, in industry, and in buildings of all kinds is crucial. Speaker Wolfgang Schnabl is head of the Green Building sector group at HUBER SE in Berching.
