Helping to shape the energy transition

In order to inspire those interested in the various degree programmes on the topic of renewable energies, the #StudyGreenEnergy network has been formed from various universities - including the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI). At a digital info day on Thursday, 27 January, the team will present its study programmes.

"For young people who want to work professionally for a more sustainable and climate-neutral future and help shape the energy transition, our degree programmes offer an excellent basis," says Prof. Dr. Sabine Bschorer. She is head of the "Energy Systems and Renewable Energies" degree programme and herself teaches subjects in energy technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TH Ingolstadt and is a member of the #StudyGreenEnergy network. "Another aspect in favour of studying in this field is that graduates can later count on secure and future-relevant jobs."

At its first information day, the network will provide information about study programmes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The speakers will give tips on the prerequisites for studying and outlooks on diverse career opportunities as an engineer with a focus on renewable energies and climate protection.

The information day on Thursday, 27 January, starts at 4 p.m. with a lecture by Volker Quaschning on climate change and today's tasks for engineers. Quaschning is professor for regenerative energy systems at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and has published several times on the topic.

Afterwards, the THI will provide information about its degree programmes in the field of "Green Energy". Participants can get in direct contact with professors, students and alumni, ask questions and take part in virtual lab tours. Participation in the #StudyGreenEnergy event is free of charge. An info talk only on the study programme "Energy Systems and Renewable Energies" will additionally take place online on Tuesday, 8 February, at 6 pm. Applications for the programme can be submitted until 31.1.22. Info at www.thi.de/go/eee
