Studierendenprojekt der THI und der San José State University (SJSU) , USA

For the fourth year in a row, an international student project for students of THI and San José State University (SJSU) in California is taking place again, in the context of which a task of the HMI group of the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) is being worked on.

This year's project involves the conception and implementation of a user interface design and simulation framework that will enable UI designers to switch seamlessly between designing and testing user interfaces. Flexible, parameterizable HMI elements are to be dragged and dropped from a library onto a web-based canvas for a specific UI design and linked to data streams provided by an appropriately instantiated data simulation engine. To demonstrate the project work, the project team will design an application scenario that illustrates the implemented solutions.

For the kickoff of the project, a group of two computer science and two UXD students from THI traveled to California with Prof. Tiedemann for a week this year to get to know the project participants from SJSU and to start brainstorming for the project work together during a visit to SRI in Menlo Park.
Over the summer semester, the group will work together online and present the results at a final project week at Whitsun, when the SJSU students will travel to THI for a return visit.
