We are delighted to welcome Dr. Tobias Huber as a new junior professor at THI. Having grown up in Donaumoos near Neuburg an der Donau, he is now returning to the region through his research.

After studying mathematics (Bachelor and Master) at the University of Augsburg, specializing in theoretical mathematics and algebraic geometry, Tobias discovered his fascination for artificial intelligence (AI). His PhD in human-centered AI at the University of Augsburg focuses on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). His goal is to make complex AI models more transparent and understandable for users without prior technical knowledge.

In his research, Prof. Dr. Tobias Huber concentrates on the development of new XAI algorithms and the evaluation of these through user studies in order to promote ethical and comprehensible AI applications. His results have been published in over 20 peer-reviewed publications to date.

As a junior professor in the practice track, Tobias will work in a company in the coming months and gain valuable experience there, which will in turn be incorporated into teaching and research.

In his spare time, he is co-founder of an indie game studio.

We are very much looking forward to working with him and wish him much joy and success!
